RACE RULES & Regulations
SECTION 1: Waiver of Liability
WildCard Racing Productions, LLC, will assume no responsibility or liability for injury, or death to a person or animal or damage to property of any owner, contestant or assistant. Each contestant, by the act of paying their entry fees and entering the facilities - including but not limited to: arena, stalls, wash rack areas, parking lots, bathrooms, and any other part of the facility included in the premise, waive all claims against WCR Productions, and any arena for which shows are operated from, owners, workers, and/or any one person or entity associated with WCR Productions events for injury/damage/death he/she or their property sustain. No person associated with the production of the show may be held liable for any of the above occurrences.
SECTION 2: Contestants’ Responsibility
Contestants are responsible for being up to date on the rules, which will be posted on the event pages, the WildCard Racing Productions Facebook page, and the WildCard Racing Productions website, particularly relating to events in which they compete. Failure to understand will not be accepted as an excuse.
SECTION 3: Horse Ridden By Multiple Riders & One-Horse Per Run Rule
The same horse may be shown in the same class if ridden by different riders, at the discretion of the producer. Per BBR rules, a horse may run in the same class twice IF ridden by a different rider. The horse may only be ridden under the registered name ONCE per class.
Only (1) horse may enter the arena during a competitive run. An additional horse may assist another rider in the alley; however, if multiple horses enter the arena and cross the timer, it will be an automatic disqualification and recorded as a no time.
SECTION 4: Posting of Results
Results to any event will be posted publicly in a timely manner after each event on www.sgpevents.net.
SECTION 5: Payouts, Aged Classes, & Division Splits
Payout Breakdown:

5D BBR Barrels Payout
1-25 entries pay 1 place per division
26-50 entries pay 2 places per division
51-100 entries pay 3 places per division
101-143 entries pay 4 places per division
144-200 entries pay 5 places per division
201-250 entries pay 6 places per division
251 & 333 entries pay 7 places

3D NBHA Barrel Payout
1-10 entries pay 1 place per division
11-15 entries pay 2 places per division
16 - 30 entries pay 3 places per division
31- 60 entries pay 4 places per division
61-90 entries pay 5 places per division
91-120 entries pay 6 places per division
121 & 150 entries pay 7 places
**Payout for the Adult 3D or 4D, Youth 3D or 4D, Senior 3D or 4D, and Open 5D Barrels and Open 4D Poles Class money will be divided into each of the divisions. If a division is paying 4 places and there are 2 winners in that division the extra money will be divided between the two winners in that division. If there are no qualifiers in a division, that division’s money will be distributed evenly to other division placings.
**Peewee entries are 100% payback.
**All other classes payback 80% or 75% depending on the class - see flyers for more details
**Added Money will be paid back 100%
**Specialty class may vary, but will be clearly advertised.
**Decisions of the timers and judges shall be final. Any protests must be addressed at the office the day of the show.
**In the event the timer fails to operate a rerun will be granted during that same event. Penalties will stand if barrels or poles are knocked during timer failure. A "No Time" for a down barrel or pole will be assessed in divisional races.
**In the event a contestant’s equipment breaks, no rerun will be allowed.
**Open classes are open to all ages, except for peewee riders.
**Ages are determined by the riders age as of January 1st.
**Youth classes are 18 and under.
**Adult classes are for competitors aged 19-49.
**Senior classes are for competitors aged 50 and over.
**If in the event there is no senior class offered, anyone 19 and over will be allowed to run in the adult class.
**Age limit for youth events is eighteen (18) years of age by January 1st. If an individual begins the year (January 1) as a youth competitor, they will be considered a youth competitor for the remainder of the year, regardless of where their birthday falls during the year.
**Peewee age limit is ten (10) and under. To be eligible to compete in Peewee Barrels the rider cannot compete in any other classes. Age is determined by the age the child is of that particular year by January 1st. Peewees may move up in the youth division at any time during the year, but once they move up, they must remain at that level of competition.
**Entries will be random draw for running order/positions for all classes. Running order will be posted before the start of the class at the office. Anyone signing up after the running order is posted will be put at the bottom of the list or filled in to and open/scratch spot if the opportunity arises. The only exception is when an individual has more than one horse and we will do the best we can to space them.
**3D Barrel and Pole classes will be paid out on (1) second splits

>>2D - 30%
>>3D - 20%
**4D Barrel Classes will be paid out on (.5) second splits
>>1D - 35%
>>2D - 30%
>>3D - 20%
>>4D - 15%
**4D Pole Classes will be paid out on (1) second splits

**5D Open Barrel class will be paid out on (.5) second splits
>>1D - 30%
>>2D - 25%
>>3D - 20%
>>4D - 15%
>>5D - 10%
SECTION 6: 3-Call Rule
The 3-Call Rule will be strictly enforced and applied as follows:
Once the arena is clear and ready for the next contestant, the announcer will issue the first call for the next horse and rider.
Important:
If you have not checked in with the gate official, your 2nd and 3rd calls will be back-to-back with no additional time allowance.
Call Timing & Delays
If there is any delay—including but not limited to:
• Horse refusing the gate
• Tack or equipment malfunction
• Contestant not prepared—your first 30-second countdown begins immediately following the first call.

After the first 30 seconds expire, you will receive your 2nd call, and the next 30-second countdown will begin.

After that 30 seconds expire, you will receive your 3rd call, followed by the final 30-second countdown.
If you have not broken the timeline and entered the arena by the end of the final 30 seconds, you will be scratched and given a No Time (NT).
Gate Check-In Requirements
Every arena setup is different; however:

You must be checked in with the gate official before your run.
-
If the arena uses a designated holding pen with a closing gate, you must be inside the holding pen before the gate closes & the tractor turns off.
Failure to follow these requirements may result in immediate enforcement of the 3-Call Rule and potential disqualification.
SECTION 7: Broken Pattern & Forward Motion
If at any point you break pattern, you will be allowed to complete your pattern but will not be allowed to double circle any barrel or to “train.” You will also not be allowed to restart pattern. Once you cross the timeline forward motion must always be kept. If forward motion is not kept once crossing the timeline, it will be considered a broken pattern.
*****Crossing the line of the arena*****
For races that are marked with a clear alleyway or holding pen, no circling will be allowed passed the mouth of the arena where the two connect. You may circle in the alleyway or circle in the holding pen. Once the mouth of the arena has been entered, you must maintain forward motion or it will be considered a broken pattern.
SECTION 8: Run Order Rule
If a contestant runs out of order or on the wrong horse for any reason, they will be automatically disqualified
Section 9: Dress Code
During any competitive run, participants are required to wear:
Jeans
Western style boots/shoes
Prohibited:
No tube tops, spaghetti straps or sandals during a competitive run.
Always verify specific event details for exceptions or special requirements.
9.1 Special Events - Mandatory Full Dress Code
Special Events will require full dress with no exceptions when noted on the show flyer and/or our website.
Full Dress means:
Cowboy Hat or Helmet
Long sleeve western shirt
Jeans
Western style Boots
When full dress code is required if you are found in violation of the dress code it will be a $50 fine that must be paid within 30 mins of conclusion of the class the violation was made or rider will be disqualified.
SECTION 10: Contestant Expectations
WCR Production owner’s decisions are final. Any unruly behavior, disrespect to staff, public online attacks, or ill-treatment of animals at the show will not be tolerated. WCR Productions reserves the right to scratch contestants without a refund if above poor behavior/sportsmanship is displayed.
Violators will receive:

One verbal or written warning
-
A second offense will result in a disqualification for that event that day and you will be asked to leave with no refund of entry fees; if you are a WCR Productions member, you may have your membership revoked for the current season, at the producer's discretion.

A third offense will result in a ban from future WCR Productions events
SECTION 11: Refunds, Carryovers, & Dogs

Draw outs for special event weekend shows where pre-entries are required to be prepaid.
-
No questions asked - for a refund of 80% on entries. Check each event page for deadlines.
-
70% refunds will be granted with a vet release or doctor’s release ONLY up until 12:00 PM CST on the day before competition starts for each event. Check each event page for deadlines.

No refunds will be given on stalls and RVs. Entries, Stalls, & RVs may be sold.

Draw outs for locals shows/series where pre-entries aren't required to be prepaid
-
No questions asked- you may remove your entry from sgp at any time prior to the pre-draw being posted. Once the pre-draw has been posted you must contact WCR productions to have your entry removed prior to the event.

Once you are entered on sgp and added to the draw you must have your entries paid in full prior to the first horse running in the first class that you are entered.
-
You will be allowed 3 no call/no show draw outs per season and then after 3 times you will no longer be allowed to pre-enter any WCR Production shows.

Carryovers MUST be declared before your run. All side pots must be added before you run.
-
No changes to entries may be made after your run has been completed.
-
For the safety of all riders, horses, and pets, dogs must remain on a leash at all times. Please note that each arena may have its own dog policies, which may supersede WCR Production rules. If the facility requires stricter guidelines, WCR Productions will enforce those rules as requested.

Dog owners are responsible for cleaning up after their animals. Dogs brought into or around the arena must remain leashed. If your dog is unattended, it must be safely tied or secured in your trailer. Loose or unattended dogs will not be tolerated for the safety of your animal, other dogs, horses, and people.

Please be aware of Missouri law on dog bites and what that can mean.

SECTION 12: Claiming Payouts

You have 60 days to make arrangements/make contact with the producer about winnings.
-
All winnings will be mailed within two weeks of the show’s conclusion.
-
If the show paid out with checks and you have not turned in your W9 after WCR Productions has attempted to reach out and collect the W9, after 60 days your check becomes VOID and your winnings will be returned to future added monies.
-

You must have a W9 on file to pick up any winnings, cash or check, even if it is $1. This includes beginners & peewee riders.
-
If you have not made efforts to claim your winnings/make arrangements/respond to the producer, your winnings will go back into WCR Productions toward added monies.
-
If you do not cash your check within 60 days your check will become VOID.
-
You may have someone pick up and sign for your checks. WCR Productions is not liable for any payments claimed by outside parties you have designated.
-
ALL beginner/peewee winnings are paid back in cash. PLEASE pick them up the day of the show, they are always ready shortly after the class concludes.
-
We will NOT pay back with Venmo or Paypal - it is a direct violation of their policies and can result in accounts being banned.

Replacement checks - checks will not be replaced that were voided for failure to be cashed. In the event a check is misplaced/lost in the mail and you contact the producer prior to the 60 day mark, we will replace your check for a fee of $35 each that will be taken from the winnings. We are not responsible for checks that are lost by the postal service. Please allow 7-10 business days for checks to arrive through USPS before contacting the producer. Business days are Monday - Friday if there are not holidays within the week.
SECTION 13: Expos, Ride Sessions, & No Shows

EXPOS - 60-second time limit per expo. Must be in the holding pen ready to do your expo. If you are not ready to do your expo in your time slot, you forfeit your expo(s). If you reserve expos, you bought them. Scratches on expos will not be allowed once we are 24 hours from the race’s start time. The only exception is if you are completely drawing out from a show and cannot make it. You are welcome to sell them privately to others if you no longer need them.

ANY expos that go over 60 seconds - you will owe $6 for expos that go 1 to 60 seconds over your allotted time. If you go 61-120 seconds over your allotted time you will owe a $50 fine. You will not be allowed to compete until your overages/fines are paid.

No ponying will be allowed during expos or ride sessions.

NO SHOWS: Complete draw-outs (defined as not showing up and competing at the show at all) must be declared before your run(s) will come with no penalty. However, after 3 draw outs with no attempt to contact the producer before your run to let them know you will not be present, you will no longer be allowed to pre-enter WCR Productions Shows.
Section 14: Points Accumulation

Points will be awarded in each division based on placings, if classes are offered and stated as giving awards. Each show will be different so please read show flyers carefully:

1D-5D Open Barrels

1D-4D Youth or 1D-3D (Depending on how it is listed on show flyer)

1D-4D Adult or 1D-3D (Depending on how it is listed on show flyer)

Points will be awarded in descending order from 10 points through 1 point to the respective placings, 1 - 10 riders in each division, to members ONLY. Non-members will be pulled out of the points placings. Divisions will be based off of the fastest time of the class, whether it is a member or non-member. If there is a tie - example - both members run a 15.000 & 15.000 in a tie for first in the 1st division, each will be awarded 10 points for 1st & 2nd. The next member to accumulate points (3rd) will receive 8 points.

You may only place ONCE per division. If you are running multiple horses, and they both run in the 2D, you will be given the points on the highest-placing horse. If you have a horse run in the 2D and 3D, you will get the appropriate points for each horse in each division

Year-end awards- Same rider can win year end awards in different divisions but not on the same horse and Same rider cannot win multiple spots in the same division.

Nominations into each series must be paid for points to start tracking. There will not be additional sponsorship requirement for 2026 to be eligible for awards.

After points have been calculated and released to the membership to review, there will be a 72-review period for any disputes. Once the declared 72 hours window has closed, results are final.

In the event of a tie in points at any point series finals, all ties will be settled by:

(1) Most Shows Attended
-
(2) Most Consistent Division Placing

(2a) If contestants have same divisional placing, downed barrels/NT will be assessed, fewest # wins
-

(3) All times in the tied division will be added together, and lowest cumulative time wins
-
(4) If all of the above are even up, flip a coin

Once series placing have been announced - online and through email - there will be 72-hour point review period for members to bring forth any potential discrepancies. Start and end time for the review period will be clearly announced. Any disputes will be reviewed by the points keeper. Once the 72-hour review is closed, points will be final, and no changes will be made. Points/placings will stand as is.

Section 15: Vendors
ALL vendors (individuals and businesses) must be approved by WCR Productions and have paid their vendor/sponsorship fee to set up at an event. Vendors that have not paid their fee and have not been approved, may be asked to pay or leave, which is up to the discretion of WCR Productions. If an individual, vendor, or business is found to be selling/providing/soliciting at an WCR Productions event without approval, you will be asked to leave, any entries will be scratched without refund, and WCR Productions will review your future potential of vending at events. Further violations will result in a ban of vending at WCR Productions events.

Section 16: Printed, Posted Material, & Show Day Announcements
Posted and printed material is updated often. Please check with management for the most up to date information. Announcements at shows always supersede any printed/post material, should unexpected changes arise.
Section 17: Motorized Vehicles (Segways, Scooters, Motorcycles, Bikes, Golf Carts, Crickets, etc.)
No motorized or rideable wheeled equipment is allowed near the arena during show. This includes, but is not limited to:

Arena

Warm-up pens
-
Alleyways
These restrictions apply from the first horse run of the day until the last horse run of the day.
Any motorized vehicle left unattended in a restricted area—such as passageways, doorways, high-traffic zones, horse areas, or near the arena—will be confiscated by the office. After the first verbal warning, any additional violations will result in a $75 fine.

Section 18: Health Certificates & Coggins
Contestants must be prepared to show a current negative Coggins Test, and provide up to date Health papers, according to the state’s laws the competition is in. This is the contestant’s responsibility to have the proper paperwork.
Section 19: Stall, RVs, & Entry Requests
Requests are requests - not guarantees. Currently, we do not offer any type of guarantee on stalls, RVs, expos or entry requests. If you want to have stalls and RVs next to certain individuals, you will need one person to purchase the stalls/rvs on the same account. We will not be taking requests for stall/rv groupings. Stall location requests will be given to sponsors first. Special stalling requests for safety reason such as (but not limited to) - stallions, health issues, etc. will be considered. ALL requests must be emailed to wcr_productions@outlook.com. No text or Facebook PMs will be accepted. Entry requests must also be emailed - ground position is never guaranteed and always random.
Section 20: Empty Draw Spots
WCR Productions reserves the right to fill empty draw spots should spots become available.
Section 21: Missed Runs
It is the sole responsibility of the contestant to know their draw position. Failure to be present for a competition run will result in a scratch. In the event of a missed run, contestant will have the option to be added back in to the race at the very end by paying a second entry fee.
Section 22: Competition & Warm Up Arena Usage
Competition Arenas will be CLOSED for any outside riding once the race has started for the weekend. This time frame begins once the first horse enters the arena for the weekend, usually Friday expos.
Warm up arenas: No pop-up barrels are allowed in the warmup pens while the competition is in progress each day, and contestants are trying to prepare for competition. Warm up areas need to be usable for all contestants, and also for the safety of all riders, pop up barrels are prohibited.
No smoking is allowed in barns, high usage horse areas, the arenas, bathrooms, or any enclosed indoor areas of any facility. Please only smoke in designated areas. Each arena has their own designated areas, and WCR Productions will uphold their rules pertaining to smoking.
Repeated infractions, after (1) verbal warning, will result in a $50 fine per occurrence. Unpaid fines will result in a scratch for all entries for the day the infraction(s) occurred if not paid by the end of the competition day. There will be no refunds. If the person that makes an infraction is a non-contestant, the infraction will go to the rider they are accompanying.
Section 23: Amendments
WCR Productions may modify rules, point systems, or event designations at any time.

Members will be notified via email, website, and/or social media.
In the event of unexpected changes, show announcements will always supersede any printed or posted materials.
Section 24: Late Entries
You may late enter on site until the first horse runs in each class. However - draw numbers will NOT be assigned until entries are paid. You are welcome to pay on site, but space between horses cannot be guaranteed - especially if you do not pay online upon entering.
Section 25: Disclaimers
We (WildCard Racing Productions) reserve the right to refuse entry for ANY reason. Behavior by contestants or spectators that is deemed inappropriate will not be tolerated and is grounds for dismissal from event with no refund.
These actions include but are not limited to:
Theft, destruction of property, willful endangering any animal or human, excessive whipping/kicking/hitting of a horse, or verbal & physical threats of any kind. This list can be added to in any capacity at the production’s discretion.
DISCLOSURE: When entering this event, you agree to the following. Rider agrees to become familiar with and abide by the rules of this event. Rider understands that WildCard Racing Productions (producers of this event) along with the staff and associates of WCR Productions, arenas, owners, and any of their affiliates are not responsible for any accident, injury, theft or death to themselves or property while attending, competing, camping or spectating at this event. Rider understands that WildCard Racing Productions reserves the right to refuse entry for any reason.
WARNING: Under Missouri Law, a domesticated animal professional is not liable for damages suffered by, an injury to or the death of a participant resulting from the inherent risks of domesticated animal activities. You are assuming inherent risks of participating in this domesticated animal activity.
Contestants may be photographed and videotaped at our events. Videos and photos may be posted online by the official event photographer. Videos and photos taken by the official photographer may be used at the discretion of WCR productions for promotional reasons. Official photographer/videographer has exclusive rights to public sale of photos from our events. Contestants in our database may be contacted via email and/or text messaging to provide you with reminders of upcoming events, sponsor specials or obtain feedback.
